CHC33015 Certificate III in Individual Support


Previously – Certificate III in Aged Care.

Become a qualified Support Worker in the Ageing sector by completing your Certificate III in Individual Support.

By completing our National Recognised Training, you will be able to provide paid support to those who require it due to ageing or some other reason in an Aged Care Facility or in a Home and Community setting.

With small class sizes, dedicated trainers and opportunities for employment through Work Placement, we ensure you are job ready.

Course Overview

This course requires you to complete a total of 13 units of study, made up of 7 Core and 6 Elective units.

Delivery Options

We offer two different delivery options for our Certificate III training, both options involve:

  • classes 9 am to 3 pm
  • 120 hours of vocational placement

Full Time – Work Integrated Training (placement regularly scheduled throughout)

  • 5 days a week
  • 10 weeks to complete (approx.)

Part Time

  • Fridays
  • 25 weeks in class training (approx.)

Completion times may vary according to individual circumstances.

Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL)

Both formal and informal skills, knowledge and experience may be recognised as prior learning and could help you avoid training in areas you are already competent.

Some examples of prior learning include:

Entry Requirements

  • Must be Australian or New Zealand Citizen or Permanent Resident
  • Police Check Certificate (Australian Federal Police check only)
  • Completion of English to year 12 or equivalent
    OR acceptable English language, literacy and numeracy skills

Individual support is available for students who face barriers to participating in accredited learning.

Work Placement
We have existing quality relationships with our local Facilities and Organisations which ensure our students are offered the best Work Placement opportunities possible.

We will arrange your Work Placement for you and do our best to place you with a Facility or Organisation close to home.

If you’re already working in the Industry, you can complete your Work Placement at your workplace if you choose.

Although Work Placement is unpaid, it provides fantastic work experience as well the confidence and contacts that will assist in gaining employment.

Your work shifts will be based on the standard shifts of the organisation you are placed. You may be expected to start as early as 6:00 am and work as late as 11:00 pm. Please consider your transport needs in relation to this.
