This unit prepares students with the skills and knowledge required to prepare for and provide medication assistance, and to complete medication documentation. It also involves supporting a client to self-administer medication.
Estimated duration is 6 hours self-paced; 6 hours classroom; 3 hours work practical.
Participants will be issued a Statement of Attainment on successful completion
Delivered by a registered nurse or registered enrolled nurse, experienced in the Community Services sector.
Onsite or offsite
Part 1 – Self paced theory
Part 2 – Face to face theory and practical simulation
Part 3 – Workplace practical skills assessment
