Could government funding help pay for your training?

The Queensland Government, through the Department of Education and Training reduces the cost of training for eligible students means that your new career goal more achievable than you might have thought.

Because of the demand for workers in the Community Services sector funding has been allocated to many qualifications in the sector, for students who meet the eligibility criteria.

Certificate 3 Guarantee Funding

The Certificate 3 Guarantee supports the Queensland Government’s Working Queensland jobs plan. The Certificate 3 Guarantee provides a government subsidy to support eligible individuals to complete their first post-school certificate III qualification.

It also supports Queensland’s Year 12 graduates to transition to employment by providing fee-free training in high priority qualifications as well as Boost SEQ  funding, which provides eligible jobseekers with funding for training to help secure local jobs. Training may include “second chance” training for jobseekers or workers who already have a Certificate 3 (or higher) level qualification but need new or updated skills to gain, change or retain employment.

Higher Level Skills Funding

The Higher Level Skills program supports the Queensland Government’s Working Queensland jobs plan.  The program provides a government subsidy to support eligible individuals to access one subsidised training place in selected certificate IV and above qualifications, or priority skill sets.

The aim is to assist individuals to gain the higher level skills required to secure employment or career advancement in priority industries or to transition to university.

User Choice Funding

The User Choice program provides a public funding contribution towards the cost of training and assessment services for eligible Queensland apprentices and trainees.
